Many people have small gardens in their yards, on a porch or patio, or
even in a sunny window.

miles. Some are indoors, in buildings made just for them.
These big gardens are useful. They often have plants from many parts of
the world. So, scientists can study these plants without traveling to
distant places. And people can see plants they might never see
otherwise.
Even more important, these gardens are beautiful. They are a pleasure to
see and walk in. People from all over the world come to visit them.
